Polignano a Mare

Polignano a Mare

This enchanting town, known as “the Adriatic pearl”, lies 30 km from Bari.
It was the hometown of Domenico Modugno, who became famous in 1958 for his song “Nel blu dipinto di blu”.
The old town is a mixture of Arabian, Byzantine, Spanish and Norman influences, like the remains of the four defense towers which protected its entrance.
